Mario Balotelli is edging closer to an AC Milan exit at the end of this season, with Arsenal being the favourites to sign the 23-year-old striker, according to the Metro.

After being a regular target of racial abuse, on and off the pitch, it's believed the Italian striker is keen to return to the Premier League.

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has reportedly met Balotelli's agent recently to discuss financial details of the transfer.

According to the Metro, £25million is the rumoured offer as Wenger seems keen to bring 'Super Mario' to the Emirates.

Arsenal have recently signed a new sponsorship deal with Puma, which may encourage the move as they are Balotelli's boot sponsor.

With AC Milan currently sitting mid-table in the Serie A, Mario is not only pursuing a happier life on and off the pitch, but also success. With the Gunners currently standing one point from the top of the table, this could be a wise move for the Italian international.

The former Manchester City man has 10 goals under his belt this season already and with a sublime recent winner against Bologna, his form is looking promising.
