Manchester United will discover at the end of next month whether they have any chance of signing Michael Ballack from Bayern Munich.
Sir Alex Ferguson views Ballack as one of the most effective central midfielders in Europe and, with his contract due to expire next summer, the Old Trafford boss knows he could land the 29-year-old on a free transfer.
However, Ballack´s representative, Michael Becker, says the player is still uncertain of where his future lies. He told PA Sport: "To be honest he is still completely undecided, and that is why he asked for a few more weeks to come to his decision."
