It’s been a long few months for football fans but now the wait is over; the prestigious Champions League tournament has returned and is coming back with some exciting matches.
Few that stand out more than Manchester United v Olympiacos, giving the Red Devils the opportunity of some redemption for some poor performances of late.
Seeing as the Greek champions sold their best striker Kontos Mitroglou to Fulham in January, a win is surely on the cards.
Arsenal against the current holder Bayern Munich is a fixture is a repeat of last season's fixtures that saw the Gunners crash out on the away goals rule after the tie finished 3-3 on aggregate. Arsene Wenger's men are in for a tough test against the Bavarians, however, Arsenal are a team known for surprises and they will take note at the fact they defeated them 2-0 in the Allianz Arena last year.
The final stand out fixture of the second round is Manchester City against Barcelona; two great teams with the potential to have a great match both at the Etihad and the Nou Camp.
City are on a great run of form at the moment will give Barcelona a rough ride if they're at their best. However, without the Argentine Sergio Aguero, many see this as Barcelona’s match to lose.
Barcelona have also been in great form under new manager Tata Martino.
Although not playing the attractive football they are known for, they are still winning comfortably and they are currently top in a competitive La Liga.
Seeing as Lionel Messi has been better than ever since coming back from a long injury City have their work cut out for them, this match will surely be one of the best matches of this year’s tournament.
This part of the tournament usually excites and this time will be no different.
