The scrutiny of Johnny Manziel will get turned up a notch over combine week, with teams looking at his scores in the tests as well as how he fares in the team interviews.
Manziel has had his fare share of critics in the past week with multiple NFL analysts and producers playing down how much of an impact he will have in the pro game.
But NFL Network’s NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock is a believer in his talent and compares him to a Hall of Famer. From College Football 24/7's twitter account:
"Manziel looks like combination of Doug Flutie and Fran Tarkenton."
"I believe in Manziel. Team will have to live with negative plays, though."
"He doesn't like being confined. The more he was in the pocket, the more frustrated he got."
Manziel has been mentioned as a possible No.1 draft pick for the Houston Texans and was even brave enough to basically dare the Texans to draft him in comments he made last week.
“It would be the worst decision they’ve (the Texans) ever made,” he told The Houston Chronicle of the possibility. “I’d be in the same division playing against them twice a year. Sorry, but you just turned that chip on my shoulder from a frito into a dorito."
It remains to be seen if Houston rate Manziel as highly as he himself does, I guess we'll just have to find out on draft day in May.
