Jadeveon Clowney has mentality questioned

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has a lot to prove at the upcoming NFL draft combine.

Clowney is expected to smash all the physical tests, but it is in the team interviews that he is going to be put to the biggest test.

Last season Clowney was accused of taking plays off and trying to protect himself from injury in order to preserve his draft stock.

This led to a lot of commentators doubting if Clowney really loved football or if he loved what comes with being a great football player, money.

"My biggest concern is just what’s his mental makeup and how important is it to him when he gets a big paycheck?” Mayock said Tuesday during a media call. “Does he become the best player in football or is he just going to be happy to be a millionaire?”

While the young mans personality is set to be questioned, there is no doubt that Clowney is a freak physical specimen, and one we haven't seen in a long time.

"I know that he's got the physical makeup to be the best player the draft," Mayock said. "If you want to compare him to Mario Williams, I think he's a better football player with more upside than when Mario came out of college," Mayock went on to say.

"From a physical skill-set (standpoint), this kid is as freaky as they come. He plays a position of critical importance in today's NFL, which is an ability to get the quarterback, and he can play multiple places on the defense. All those things check off."

Clowney is the most naturally talented player in the draft, but his personality worries sides, and in the end it could push him down the list.
