Arsenal target will cost them €40m this summer - reports

Real Madrid have set the asking price for Angel di Maria at a cool €40million, following rumours that he is destined to leave the club at the end of this season.

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have both been named in connection with the Argentinian winger, who has struggled to cement a first-team place at Madrid following the arrival of Gareth Bale from Tottenham.

However despite speculation insisting that Real are looking to offload the 26-year-old after this season, they will not be selling him for anything less than €40million, according to Spanish newspaper Sport.

The report hints at a large clear out of players at the Bernabeu this summer, with Carlo Ancelotti looking to revamp his squad in order to ensure they remain on par with Barcelona. It goes on to state that Di Maria does wish to remain at Real Madrid if he can, but is not content with the notion of being a backup option.

Paris Saint-Germain would likely have no problem in meeting the mooted €40million valuation needed to tempt Los Blancos into a sale, but Arsene Wenger may see the price tag as being too high, particularly given the fact that he splashed £42.2million on Di Maria’s former teammate Mesut Ozil only last summer.
