Baines will surely join United eventually?.

Man United favourites to sign England star

Published Add your comment

Manchester United remain odds on to be Leighton Baines’ next club, despite the fact that the Everton and England full-back penned a new deal at Goodison Park only last month.

Paddy Power place United at evens to secure Baines’ signature, with speculation growing that current left-back Patrice Evra will leave the club at the end of this season.

Of course the transfer saga linking Baines to the Premier League champions is one that practically all fans will be familiar with. Last summer David Moyes was heavily tipped to bring in the Everton man, only to be repeatedly rebuffed in his attempts.

The United boss rekindled his interest in the January transfer window, but, with Roberto Martinez keen to hold his high-flying squad together, the 27-year-old committed his future to Merseyside for the time being.

With the Red Devils practically guaranteed to make a raft of changes to their team this summer, a move for Baines isn’t completely out the question. However it’s more likely that the defender will remain at Everton for the foreseeable future.
