Golf is a sport that puts the physical strength, mathematical prowess and nerves of a player to the test. But sometimes it doesn't quite work out as planned and the slightest miscue could be the difference between going home with a multi-million cash prize or your tail tucked between your legs.

Just ask Thomas Bjorn as the sand ruined his chances of victory at the Open Championships, back in 2003

Then again a bad shot or two doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world, simply ask Fredrik Anderson after his bunker save, earned him victory at the BMW Italian Open, along with a hefty cash sum.

Here are a few other golfers that managed to save their behinds after getting into a spot of bother, thanks to some pretty sweetly struck shots, they left  fans in awe and admiration. Number three is just ridiculous!

Although there was some luck involved, there’s no denying the skills showcased by these athletes was just out this world.

I bet Bobby Jones wished he could’ve done the same.
