Swansea striker, Michu, is set to miss the first leg of the Europa League game against Napoli on Thursday, according to the Daily Express.
The Spanish forward has been out since December with an ankle injury, although was hopeful of recovering before the European game against the Serie 'A' outfit.
Swans boss Garry Monk was hoping to include the 27-year-old forward for the game, which is the biggest of his burgeoning managerial career so far.
"He had got to a good level with his rehab and was just about to go back into full training when his ankle swelled up a little bit," he said.
"So we had to pull him out for a couple of days, but these last couple of days, he has been building it up again and he should be back in full training by Friday."
Michu was one of Swansea's standout players last season, scoring 18 goals in his first campaign in the Premier League, after his move from Rayo Vallecano to the Liberty Stadium.
The £2 million star propelled the team to League Cup success, but has been missing for large parts of 2013/14.
Unfortunately, he has been unable to replicate the form he showed last year, only producing two goals in 12 appearances before being forced out with injury.
