Liverpool star set for summer departure

On loan Liverpool defender Aly Cissokho looks set to depart the club in the summer with Atletico Madrid ready to bring the star to the club, reports talkSPORT.

Cissokho has struggled since arriving on Merseyside and his future currently looks uncertain.

It's reported that the Reds star, who is on loan from Valencia, will head back to La Liga in the summer. And with Valencia keen to sell the defender, Cissokho could join Atletico for around the £3 million mark

It appears that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers won't be pushing for a permanent deal to bring the star to the club.

With his long term future in doubt, Cissokho's immediate focus will be helping Liverpool secure Champions League qualification this season.

Liverpool currently sit in fourth place in the Premier League table and are three points ahead of north London outfit Tottenham, who occupy fourth spot. Liverpool could yet make a challenge for the league title as they sit just four points behind leaders Chelsea.
