It remains to be seen whether or not the New York Knicks will bring in a new player before tomorrow’s trade deadline, but that hasn’t the media masses pouring over reports that it’s a possibility.
The likes of Rajon Rondo have been heavily tipped to move to the Knicks before the trade door slams shut and guess what? Carmelo Anthony wants to be involved right up until the last minute.
It’s not really surprising that their star man is keen to be kept in the loop regarding any trade deals his franchise may or may not be weighing up, but it can certainly offer a hint as to the level of self-importance he has with the Knicks.
“I’m pretty sure they would bring it to me,’’ Anthony said.
“They would keep me up to date on what’s going on. As far as making decisions, that’s their job. I’m pretty sure they will keep me informed — about what’s about to happen and what’s going to happen.”
Despite only earlier this week confirming that his first priority is to remain with the Knicks for at least the foreseeable future, there are those who can see Anthony leaving if things don’t improve.
The Post believes that Anthony could be shipped at the end of this season, with the Knicks targeting a revamp of their team which will see them competing for higher than the lowly position they find themselves in this year.
