Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil received a 2/10 rating from L'Equipe for his abject performance against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last 16 first leg on Wednesday night.
The 25-year-old missed a penalty in the opening stages of the match, which visibly affected him, and then spent the rest of the match haplessly chasing the shadows of Arjen Robben and Philipp Lahm.
Time and time again the Germany international failed to track the Bayern Munich duo on Arsenal's left-hand side, but somehow lasted the entire 90 minutes without being substituted by Arsene Wenger.
Ozil's display drew fierce criticism from Arsenal supporters expecting to see more from the former Real Madrid star, who cost the Gunners £42.4m at the end of the summer transfer window.
After an impressive start to life at the Emirates Stadium, Ozil's performance levels have dropped significantly over recent months.
But, in order to help Arsenal end their nine-year trophy drought and keep himself in contention for a starting position at the 2014 World Cup finals, the playmaker will need to quickly rediscover his form.
