Liverpool's on loan left back Aly Cissokho is hoping that he will be able to stay at Anfield beyond this season.

The French international, on a season long loan from Valencia, faces uncertainty over his future but says that he would happily move on a permanent deal.

Speaking to Canal +, he said: "I have given my very best for Liverpool and we will see at the end of the season what both clubs will decide. If I have to leave Liverpool, I will leave. I am doing a nice job and that is the most important."

The 26-year-old struggled to adapt to English football, not helped by an ankle injury that required surgery at the start of the season.

Cissokho has had his chance to shine with the long term absence of first choice left back Jose Enrique through injury.

Despite critics slating his performances at the start of the season, the former Porto and Lyon defender doesn't let it affect him. "Critics? I am used to not winning unanimous support. I let people have their own opinion and I give my best."
