The following is a list of the best Frenchmen ever to have featured in the Premier League...
5 - Fabien Barthez
Regarded in his playing days as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, the former Manchester United star became a legend in the Premier League and won the World Cup with France.
4 - Claude Makelele
When he arrived at Chelsea from Real Madrid, not much was expected from him. However, when Jose Mourinho was manager the first time, Chelsea were one of the most dominating teams in the Premier League and it was because of their playing style and formation which included the classic number six role - or the Makelele Role as it has now become known.
3 - Marcel Desailly
A true Chelsea legend and one of the greatest centre-halves of all time. The strong versatile defender is not only one of the best French players ever to play in the Premier League but one of the best French players of all time.
2 – Patrick Vieira
The former Arsenal skipper did have his fair share of forgettable moments which included a few red cards for some nasty tackles but when it comes down to it Vieira was a genius and a very underrated player in my view. Vieira was integral for the Gunners and he was one of the main reasons they were so successful during the early 2000s.
1 - Thierry Henry
No-one else could really be number one. Henry was the best during his time at Arsenal and he was seen as one of the best players in the world. Arsenal's top scorer often popped up with moments of pure magic and even after he left he continued to succeed in Spain with Barcelona.
