Tottenham Hotspur striker Roberto Soldado has endured a difficult time of late in terms of earning a start spot let alone scoring goals, a stance not helped by a truly dreadful miss against Dnipro in the Europa League.
Soldado had the chance to put Spurs ahead from inside the six-yard box in Ukraine yesterday evening thanks to a superb pass across goal from Paulinho, but somehow managed to spoon the ball over the crossbar from close range.
Spurs went on to lose the opening leg of their last-32 tie by a single goal after conceding a second-half spot kick, but must still be ruing Soldado's failure to convert from close range.
The 28-year-old has got an impressive goal record in the Europa League this season with five goals in three games, but his Premier League stats tell a completely different story.
Since Tim Sherwood took charge at White Hart Lane the Spanish marksman has largely played second fiddle to Emmanuel Adebayor, with last night's performance doing little to change the Spurs manager's mind.
A genuine contender for miss of the season is available to check out at the top of the page, just don't show Sherwood!
