We’re just two days into the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship and we have no top seeds left in contention.

After Zach Johnson fell on day one, the round of 32 on Thursday saw Rory McIlroy edged out by Harris English, Henrik Stenson was beaten 4&3 by Louis Oosthuizen and Ernie Els edged past US open champion Justin Rose.

Elsewhere Rickie Fowler set up a clash with Sergio Garcia after wins over Jimmy Walker and Bill Haas respectively, the pick of Friday’s other matches sees Jordan Spieth take on defending champ Matt Kuchar.

Also still standing is Graeme McDowell after another miraculous escape this time against Hideki Matsuyama. Three down with three holes to play the Northern Irishman rallied to set up a tie against familiar foe and 2012 winner Hunter Mahan.

Across to Asia now where the best in the women’s game are battling it out at the Honda LPGA Thailand and how about this from Angela Stanford… Stanford is three under par at the halfway stage - three off the leader Anna Nordqvist.

That’s all for this week, join us on Monday when we recap all the weekend’s action and as ever find us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and use the #GWNews.
