The Sochi Winter Olympics men's ice hockey semi-final between USA and Canada will commence shortly in Russia, and US bars have come up with an interesting way to break Canadian spirit.
Many bars in America will today be putting away any of their Canadian beers and be solely selling US beers only in what one bar calls 'a patriotic matter.'
Yesterday Team Canada won gold in the women's ice hockey final after coming from behind to beat USA, now whether or not US fans are feeling bitter or not, the fact remains that Canadian beer will not be sold in some places.
Alternatively, some bars have gone down the line of cutting prices for US beers, whilst charging high rates for Canada beers ahead of what should be a classic clash.
USA made the semi-finals by destroying the Czech Republic 5-2, and Canada edged past Latvia with a 2-1 win.
@AmherstAleHouse tweeted, "We will NOT sell Canadian beer during today's USA v Canada game. Plenty of American beers to enjoy."
@darrenrovell, "Bar in San Francisco charging $19 for Canadian beer tomorrow."
