WWE Intercontinental champion Big E Langston believes it would be 'great' to see CM Punk return to action before Wrestlemania XXX.
Punk - real name Phillip James Brooks - and his current situation has become somewhat of a mystery to wrestling fans of late, with reports late last month suggesting that he had retired from the company.
WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon has broken his silence on the confusing Punk issue, suggesting that the 35-year-old was taking a sabbatical.
However, with just a matter of weeks remaining before professional wrestling's showpiece event in New Orleans on April 6, Big E has spoken positively about a possible return for the former WWE champion.
"Obviously I'm not really aware of what's going, but I think there's a lot of people who desperately want him back, a lot of fans who would be excited to have him back.If that were to be the case, if he did return, I think there'd be a huge buzz around it.
"I think it would definitely be a positive thing. Like I said, I'm not sure particularly what's going on, if there's a chance or even a possibility or if it's imminent. But I know if he did return there'd be a lot of buzz and a lot of happy fans as well," he added.
Big E has a big weekend ahead to focus on, with the former powerlifter putting his title on the line against Jack Swagger at the eagerly-anticipated Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
The event will be headlined, of course, by the battle for the World Heavyweight Championship, with Randy Orton, Christian, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and John Cena all set to go toe-to-toe in the unforgiving chamber.
