Dallas Cowboys are set to interview Johnny Manziel over the weekend as part of their NFL Combine plans.

This move could potentially see the Cowboys make a late play for Manziel ahead of the NFL Draft in May.

The idea that the Cowboys could come in and swoop for Manziel seems farfetched but it's a possibility because of the contact they seek with the former Texas A&M quarterback.

NFL teams don't get the chance to speak to every draft candidate, so the ones they choose to meet with have to be worth their while.

The Cowboys wouldn't interview Manziel if there wasn't a chance that they wanted to select him.

Dallas can speak to only 60 of the 335 players that are available, so to pick Manziel as one of the of the 20% they could choose signifies their ever so slight interest.

One of the reasons they might want Manziel would be because of the continuing injuries to their starting QB Tony Romo.

Now getting rid of Romo is something extremely unlikely, but that doesn't mean that the Cowboys can't assess their options.
