Liverpool continue to track £16m January target

Liverpool remain interested in signing Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka, according to the Metro.

The north-west outfit came close to luring the 24-year-old midfielder away from Dnipro in January but failed to finalise a deal with the Ukrainian outfit.

However Liverpool are keeping close tabs on the £16million-rated winger as they hope to seal a deal for Konoplyanka in the summer.

Liverpool's senior scouts were spotted watching Dnipro's Konoplyanka in action against Tottenham in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Konoplyanka showed he is capable of mixing it up against Premier League opposition last night, which would have boosted his chances of sealing a move to Brendan Rodgers' side.

Rodgers has the opportunity of making a personal check on Konoplyanka at the end of February, as the Dnipro are due to play Tottenham at White Hart Lane on February 27.

Dnipro have stated they are '99 per cent' sure Liverpool will make an improved offer for Konoplyanka in the summer.
