Sir Alex Ferguson favourite to take over from Moyes

Sir Alex Ferguson is the favourite to become the next permanent Manchester United manager.

Paddypower have odds as short as 5/1 for the ex-Red Devils boss to take over from David Moyes.

Despite it appearing that Manchester United have a long term vision with David Moyes, there has been speculation over his future in recent time.

Recents reports have suggested that the United heirachy have made Jurgen Klopp their top managerial target, but the Borussia Dortmund coach is the third favourite, behind Ferguson and Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola, to take over from Moyes.

Moyes has had a nightmare season with Manchester United with his side sitting in seventh place in the Premier League table and in serious danger of missing out on Champions League qualification.

Manchester United are 11 points behind rivals Liverpool, who currently occupy fourth spot in England's elite division. Moyes will be hoping he can lead his Manchester United side to a victory over Crystal Palace this weekend.

It would certainly be a major shock if Ferguson came out of retirement and took over from Moyes, but stranger things have happened.
