World XI: Greatest team of the 21st Century (11)

Central midfield: Zinedine Zidane

Zinedine Zidane, the most graceful footballer in history, simply had to be in this World XI. It would have felt criminal to omit him.

Despite the fact Zidane played the majority of his career before the turn of the 21st Century, what he managed to achieve between 2000 and 2006 will never be forgotten.

For five years he lit up the Bernabeu whilst playing for Real Madrid. During the same period of time he scored the best goal in Champions League history, in the 2002 final against Bayer Leverkusen.

And he dragged France to the 2006 World Cup finals, six years after inspiring Les Blues to glory at Euro 2000.
