Premier League: 2013/14 predicted cash-per-goal earnings (1)

Published Add your comment

As I am sure you are all fully aware, as one of the best sporting divisions on the planet, the Premier League is a lucrative business these days.

Boasting some of the greatest players and teams the world has to offer, it seems frankly obscene how much money can change hands in the blink of an eye  - be it in transfer negotiations, wage demands or even rewards for finishing in certain league positions.

It is that latter point we have chosen to pinpoint here. Using an intriguing and informative graphic constructed by the fine folks at sportingintelligence, we look at a prediction for how much each goal will be worth to each club this season.*

Have a look at each value and, as ever, don't forget to let us know your thoughts below.

Are you surprised by just how much money we are talking here? Are you shocked by these figures or are they exactly what you might expect in the fast and furious world of modern sport?

*Please note, these values are based on a prediction on how the table will finish at the end of this season. Such a prediction is based upon the assumption that current goal and points tallies will progress at the same rate until May.

For a full and extensive breakdown of what these figures mean and how they have been settled upon and indeed to see last year's table, please see sporting intelligence's excellent breakdownhere.

It's quite difficult stuff, so we aim to keep it as simple as possible in the following slides. Click above or below to get started...
