Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o took to social media site Instagram yesterday to dismiss talk of a potential summer exit from Stamford Bridge.
Eto'o joined Chelsea on a one-year deal back in the summer, a deal many believed to be a short-term solution to Chelsea's attacking problems, and recent speculation has linked him with a move back to Mallorca, the side he left for the riches of Barcelona back in 2004.
However, the Cameroonian has firmly rebuffed these rumours, taking to his Instagram account yesterday to assure Chelsea fans he is still fully committed to the club.
A statement issued by Eto'o read: "False and degrading information have been published about me, saying 'Samuel Eto'o doesn't want to stay at Chelsea...'.
"I just want to remind to all that I have a tremendous love for @chelseafc, I have a lot of respect for my leaders and teammates, I love chelsea fans, and I will keep on giving everything I have in order to defend the Blues."
This statement may surprise some, as Eto'o has previously spoken of his son's desire for him to see out his playing career at his former club, and with reports that Jose Mourinho is looking to splash the cash on a new spearhead to his attack in the summer, it looked very likely that Eto'o would make way for a fresh signing.
Though after a stinging statement, it appears Eto'o could be set to stay put in west London for longer than expected.
