Texas A&M have risen to the top of the 2015 recruitment rankings after receiving the commitment of Deshawn Capers-Smith this week.
The Aggies overtake LSU in the rankings after the pledge from the cornerback, who ironically is from New Orleans.
Capers-Smith is the eighth overall commit for the university for 2015 and the first from outside of Texas. Traditional powers, Alabama and Florida State are third and fourth respectively in the rankings. West Virginia are currently ranked fifth.
According to 247sports.com, Texas A&M also have several other high class potential commits in the pipeline. Cornerback, Kendall Sheffield and linebacker Malik Jefferson are both leaning toward the Aggies which would put the team into great shape in 2015.
Texas A&M finished sixth in the 2014 recruitment rankings whilst Alabama, LSU and Ohio State were in the top three last year.
This season, the Aggies will be without quarterback Johnny Manziel, offensive lineman Jake Matthews and wide receiver Mike Evans who have all declared for the NFL draft.
The Aggies finished 9-4 last season after winning 11 games in 2012.
