Manchester United have identified Roma defender Mehdi Benatia as the man they want to replace Nemanja Vidic, reports The Express.
Reports in Italy have suggested that Red Devils boss David Moyes has made the Serie A star his top priority as he goes in search of new recruits this summer.
The 26-year-old, who has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham, was wanted by United in the last window before he opted to join Roma from Udinese.
However, with Vidic now set to depart Manchester United, it appears that Moyes is ready to renew his interest in the Moroccan star.
And, if the Manchester United boss does make a move for the Roma star in the next window, he may have to work hard to persuade the star to the Theatre of Dreams.
It remains to be seen as to whether the Old Trafford outfit do make a move for the player, but their immediate attention will turn to tomorrow night's Champions League clash.
Manchester United take on Greek outfit Olympiacos and will be desperate to gain a positive result in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie. Moyes' side will be hoping to continue pick up another victory after beating Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park this past weekend.
