The future of Brent Grimes hangs in the balance as he awaits for a new deal with the Miami Dolphins.
Grimes' agent Ben Dogra has spoken with the franchise several times as they try to establish if Grimes will be given a new long-term deal with the Dolphins or slapped with the franchise tag.
The Cornerback told the Miami Herald that: "They said they like me here and want to have me back. Hopefully, it happens sooner than later, and I don't have to worry about it"
When asked about being given the Franchise tag, Grimes claimed: "Nobody wants to get [the] franchise tag, another one-year deal."
At the age of 30 a one-year-deal for Grimes could be bad for him personally as the chances of Miami offering a longer contract at the end of it would decrease dramatically.
Grimes isn't the only player to have his Dolphins future shrouded in mystery as fellow Cornerback Nolan Carroll and Safety Chris Clemons are both set to hit free agency in 2014.
Either way, Grimes looks set to return to the Florida coast ahead of next season.
