Defensive End Jadeveon Clowney ran a 4.53 in the 40 yard dash at the NFL combine which was faster than any QB has recorded this year.

The South Carolina prospect has shown blazing speed and incredible explosiveness that really demonstrates the physical gif5s that the 6 foot 5 defensive end has been blessed with.

"Flat out crazy" is how NFL expert Mike Mayock described Clowney's 40 yard dash time.

To put the time into context, it would be best to compare Clowney to the QB group at this years combine, Virginia Tech's Logan Thomas recorded the quickest time for a quarterback with a 4.60 40-yard dash.

Texas A&M's Jonny Manziel who has been described as having 'lightning quickness' could only muster a 4.68 time.

The real speedsters of the NFL come at the wide receiver position, but Clowney's time matched some of the top receivers entering this years draft, Mike Evans of Texas A&M ran exactly the same time and Kelvin Benjamin of Florida State was actually slower than the defensive end.

Clowney has made it very clear that he wants to be the number one pick in the draft and the Houston Texans have the enviable position of possibly taking the defensive beast with the number one overall selection in this years draft.
