Liverpool striker Luis Suarez remains top of the Premier League goalscoring charts, despite going four games without a single goal.

The Uruguayan hit-man has notched an impressive 23 times already this season, but is fast being caught up by team-mate Daniel Sturridge in this year's race for the domestic Golden Boot.

Robin van Persie looks certain to sacrifice the prestigious prize he has claimed in each of the past two seasons, after injury curtailed his campaign, leaving the Manchester United talisman on 11 goals in 2013/14.

Manchester City duo Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure both find themselves with an outside chance of challenging for the trophy, while Arsenal's Olivier Giroud has also enjoyed an impressive return in his second season in England's top-flight.

Elsewhere around Europe, Lionel Messi finds himself well off the pace in La Liga thanks largely to a lack of fitness and form, but Cristiano Ronaldo has challengers from a number of different clubs, rivalling for Spain's top goalscorer crown.

Carlos Tevez maintained his impressive debut season in Serie 'A' after scoring his 14th league goal of the season for Juventus in Sunday's 1-0 derby win over Torino, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic moved a step closer to retaining his Golden Boot award in Ligue 1 after netting a hat-trick in Paris Saint-Germain's 4-2 win over Toulouse.
