Liverpool are on the back of a 4-3 win over Swansea, a nail-biter of a match. Southampton, on the other hand, are looking to prove themselves coming off of a 3-1 loss to West Ham last weekend.

The Saints have something to prove. This year's squad have not been dominating like last year's, and while they do not look like a side destined for relegation, Southampton will still have to fight this season to end up in the middle of the table.

Liverpool are off to a roaring start, and don't look stoppable, especially not by a mid-table squad. However, the Reds are coming off of a 4-3 'nail-biter' with Swansea that was won courtesy of a rebound that fell to Jordan Henderson's boot.

Thus, the Reds have low confidence heading into this match and the Saints have something to prove.

This weekend looks to be the perfect environment to stage a battle that might just end in a victory for the underdog Saints.
