Park Ju-Young to Liverpool

Park Ju-Young had some of Europe’s most prominent clubs coveting his signature following the relegation of Monaco from Ligue1 in 2011, and Liverpool were the early favourites to clinch the signature of the South Korean.

The striker, whose 12 goals could not help Monaco avoid the drop, identified Liverpool as his preferred option, but Arsenal seemingly appeared out of nowhere to win the race to sign him.

Park, however, has arguably been the worst signing ever made by Arsene Wenger, and Liverpool will have lost no sleep after failing to capture the player.
