Chelsea: Predicted lineup v Galatasaray

Published Add your comment

Chelsea left it late to cement their status as Premier League leaders at the weekend, with long-serving captain John Terry popping up with a last-gasp winner to defeat Everton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in Saturday's early kick-off.

With the Blues' narrow one-point lead at the summit of the top-flight temporarily secured, attentions can now turn to Europe.

On Wednesday evening, Chelsea will return to Champions League action for the first-leg of their last 16 tie against Galatasaray at the Turk Telekom Arena.

The West London outfit will be greeted by a familiar face among the Galatasaray ranks, with Didier Drogba now plying his trade under Roberto Mancini in the Süper Lig.

In terms of team news for Chelsea, it appears that David Luiz and John Obi Mikel have travelled for the tie and could be available after missing that aforementioned match against Everton.

Brazilian playmaker Oscar is also part of the travelling party, but Mourinho will be without January newcomers Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah who are both cup-tied.

With that in mind, here we attempt to predict which Chelsea XI Mourinho will select to take to the field in Turkey...

Chelsea predicted XI v Galatasaray:

Cech; Azpilicueta, Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic; Lampard, Ramires; Willian, Hazard, Oscar; Eto'o.
