Kent have signed Australian fast-bowler Doug Bollinger as their overseas player for the entire of the 2014 season, according to Kent Cricket.

Bollinger, 32, was on standby throughout the recent Ashes series and has taken 50 wickets in 12 tests for the Aussies. Kent announced their intentions to add an overseas signing to their ranks last week.

The fact Bollinger will be available for all forms of Cricket this season, after he went unsold in the 2014 IPL auction, may have proved a deciding factor in the decision to sign the 32-year-old over other potential foreign targets.

Kent Cricket Head Coach Jimmy Adams spoke on the matter, and was pleased with the addition to the squad.

"We are all excited and pleased to have Doug coming to Kent for the 2014 season," Adams said.

"Doug is an extremely talented player who is bringing a wealth of experience, having performed successfully at all levels and across all formats. We are confident he will make a positive contribution to Kent Cricket in the season ahead.”

Kent will begin their 2014 LV County Championship campaign away at Worcestershire on the April 13, before their first home fixture at the St Lawrence ground in the same competition a week later.
