Arsenal star announces return to full training

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has used his official Facebook page to inform fans that he returned to full training this afternoon, targeting a return to first-team action in this weekend's Premier League clash with Stoke City.

Ozil missed last weekend's 4-1 win over Sunderland with a bruised thigh, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger quick to deny suggestions that he had decided to take the German international out of the spotlight following recent struggles.

The 25-year-old missed a penalty against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week and failed to manage his frustration throughout the match, as Arsenal slumped to a 2-0 victory.

Wenger's side coped admirably without their record signing against Sunderland and have now been handed a timely boost by the ex-Real Madrid star, who is confident of featuring against Stoke.

Ozil posted on Facebook earlier today: "Back in training after my injury. getting ready for the match on saturday. #bpl #coyg"

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger faces a difficult decision over team selection if Ozil is passed fit to face Stoke this weekend, with Tomas Rosicky deputising against Sunderland in some style.

Rosicky put the finishing touch to a wonderful Arsenal team goal against the Black Cats and will expect to keep his place following an exemplary display, which means Ozil may have to be patient in his bid to find top form.
