Barcelona are aiming to bring in Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller this summer, as part of a revamp of their squad, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish newspaper, citing German publication Bild, suggests that Muller was left disgruntled by Pep Guardiola’s decision to omit him from the starting lineup that faced Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League tie, and could be interested in moving to pastures new come the end of the season.

Priced at a mooted €45million, and a rumoured target of both Manchester United and Real Madrid, Muller has established himself in recent seasons as one of the top talents in European football.

It’s believed that whilst Bayern do not want to sell the 25-year-old, who has bagged 20 goals in all competitions for them this campaign, they could be open to lucrative offers if the player himself signals his intent to leave the Allianz Arena.

Muller’s side currently sit top of the Bundesliga, having amassed an impressive 62 points from 20 games. Barcelona are not faring so well, and surrendered their position at the top of La Liga following a surprise defeat to Real Sociedad at the weekend.
