It’s the on-going saga which just won’t leave the WWE alone. Despite Vince McMahon’s best efforts to draw a line underneath the well documented departure of CM Punk, it seems he is still making the headlines.
This time it’s the news that Randy Orton will be replacing him at the Wizard World Louisville Comic Con, which was Punk’s last scheduled appearance with the WWE.
Speculation was steadily growing over whether or not the wrestler would appear at the event, even though he has left the company, with rumours circulating that he was not happy with his status.
However now the WWE have officially pulled him from the bill, with Orton stepping in to fill his place.
For his part Orton is looking forward to the event, even though fans will undoubtedly be disappointed with Punk’s absence.
“I greatly enjoyed my first Wizard World show last year, and I can't wait to meet a whole new set of fans in Louisville, a real hotbed for wrestling," Orton said.
Numerous rumours have hit the web detailing Punk’s acrimonious exit from the WWE, with some stating that he wants to move to the UFC, and others simply claiming he’s gone AWOL.
The man himself has yet to comment on the speculation regarding his future.
