Chelsea favourites to beat Man United to signing of £32m star

Published 1 Comments

Chelsea have been made favourites to secure the signature of free-scoring Atletico Madrid star Diego Costa, ahead of Manchester United and Arsenal.

Paddy Power have the Blues at 6/4 to sign the striker before the summer transfer deadline of September 2 this year, which puts them in pole position. Interest in Costa has been high on the back of a successful season in Madrid.

Having picked up the mantle where Radamel Falcao set it down when he departed for Monaco, Costa has bagged 27 goals in 35 appearances already this season, and as such has attracted the attention of a number of European giants. Valued at £32million, his cub may be prepared to cash in on him.

Naturally the likes of United, Arsenal and Chelsea have been named in connection with the 25-year-old, but it’s the Blues who the bookies appear to favour most.

Jose Mourinho is expected to bring in a high-profile forward at the next available opportunity, and has already admitted that he is not content with the capabilities of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o.
