Several Chelsea stars including Frank Lampard, John Terry and Fernando Torres have all been 'Simpson-ised' following a collaboration between the Premier League club and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products.

The aforementioned trio - along with Eden Hazard and Petr Cech - have had characters designed in their image by the hit animated US TV series The Simpsons.

The new collaboration will see "a co-created line of Chelsea-branded merchandise featuring Springfield's famous father and son, Homer and Bart Simpson," according to Chelsea's official website.

Speaking after seeing the design of his animated character, Blues' captain John Terry said: "It's great to see myself and the other players as Simpsons characters.

"The Simpsons was and still is my favourite show, and is now my kids' too. I can't wait to see what Bart and Homer will look like as Chelsea players."

The club's chief executive, Ron Gourlay, added: "We are very pleased to announce such an exciting partnership. The Simpsons is a hugely popular show and I hope Chelsea fans will enjoy seeing its main characters in our colours."

The Simpsons, the longest-running scripted show in TV history, has been hugely popular in the UK over the last two-and-a-half decades.

It was named the 'Best Show of the 20th Century' by Time Magazine in 1999.
