Barcelona are set to beat Arsenal and Tottenham to 17 year target Alen Halilovic, according to the International Business Times.

The 17-year-old has been dubbed as the new 'Luka Modric' and has attracted attention from the Spanish club.

Real Madrid are also set to be interested in signing the youngster. Dinamo Zagreb president has even flown out to Madrid to discuss a possible deal. Madrid's involvement may force Barcelona to raise their initial bid, which was believed to be around $6 to 7 million.

Tottenham failed to conclude a deal to sign the Zageb player last summer leading to Halilovic staying in Croatia.

Spurs renewed their interest in January, and Arsene Wenger was also said to be interested. However, their lack of intent to seal the deal could see the La Liga sides battle it out for his signature rather than the London clubs.

Halilovic has three caps for Croatia and appeared in the Champions League. Barcelona's desire to play the youngster in their B squad to see how he develops could be a faltering point in the deal.
