Newcastle boss, Alan Pardew has promised fans that there will be signings made this summer, according to the Daily Star.
After revealing the club had made a profit this year, Pardew is confident that he will be able to add to his squad.
Pardew said ahead of this weekend's fixture at Hull: “We’re looking light in certain areas with the attacking department an area that is going to be addressed for sure. And of course, we need a replacement for Cabaye. That’s a big job in itself, let alone another couple of positions that we might need."
Newcastle have struggled since the French playmaker Cabaye left for PSG in January. After going four games without scoring, the victory over Aston Villa might be the sign that their season is back on track. Newcastle currently sit 8th in the league, 5 points behind Everton and Manchester United.
It has been a difficult year though for Magpie fans, with the influence of Joe Kinnear hanging over the club during his short stint as director of football, where he failed to make a permanent signing and was seen as a bit of a joke.
Fans will be hoping that Pardew will be allowed to bring in his own desired players to enable them to have a decent season next year.
