Johnny Manziel is going to be one of the most highly debated NFL draft prospects over the next few months leading up to the NFL draft and he polarizes opinion like no other.
Instead of speculating what franchises may be leaning for come May time, TFY Insider Tony Pauline polled quarterback coaches at the Combine and according to his results, it seems that the pros do not rate Johnny Football as highly as certain members of the media do.
“At last count at least 17 quarterback coaches polled at the combine rank Derek Carr over Johnny Manziel,” Pauline wrote.
While the coaches that Pauline polled may prefer Carr over Manziel, it is more likely that the former Texas A&M Aggie will still be drafted ahead of Carr.
Manziel is expected to go in the top 5 - despite what Ron Jaworski says about not being good enough to go in the first 3 rounds - while at the moment, depending who you listen to, Carr could go anywhere from the second round to the number 8 pick overall at Minnesota.
