Arsene Wenger preparing big summer of transfers

Arsene Wenger is hoping to sign two or three established players in the summer transfer window. according to football expert Guillem Balague.

Reporting in his column for Spanish newspaper AS, Balague claims that Wenger's refusal to spend money in January means that he now has over €50m to spend in the summer transfer window and is looking to spend a significant sum.

The Arsenal manager is hoping to sign two to three players that can go straight into the first team, strengthening what is likely to be another title challenge next season.

If Balague is to be believed, one of those players is likely to be Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who has agreed to join Arsenal in the summer, subject to the Gunners agreeing a fee with Los Blancos.

Morata is firmly out of the line up at the Bernabeu falling behind the emerging Jesse and is now keen to move to the Emirates in search of first team football.

Carlo Ancelotti was unwilling to sell Morata to Arsenal in the summer January but now seems happier to let the 22-year-old go.

Arsenal will still have to offer a sizeable fee for the Spanish striker, however, with Real Madrid looking to raise funds for their own transfer business.
