Manchester United are planning a bid for Fiorentina defender Stefan Savic, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 23-year-old was part of Manchester City's team during the 2011-12 season but failed to impress. However, the defender has revelled in the move to Fiorentina, so much so that he is rumoured to be returning to Manchester thanks to fine form in Serie A.
Manchester United's defence is due to have a major overhaul in the summer, with Nemanja Vidic already confirmed to be leaving the club this summer and the future of Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra uncertain.
A big summer transfer budget is due to be handed to Moyes, with defensive targets including Porto's Eliaquim Mangala and Bayern Munich's defensive linchpin Dante.
Savic, a Montenegrin international, could get another opportunity to prove that he can play in the Premier League if a move materialises.
The 23-year-old joins a long list of players who have been linked with the current Premier League champions, but could possibly be a cheaper option than some of the other names linked with a move.
The move would be a risk for Moyes to take following Savic's poor record across Manchester, but United definitely need additions in central defence.
