Published Add your comment

Former NFL star Darren Sharper is in jail on rape charges and he is due to be extradited to New Orleans in the coming days.

Sharper is jailed in downtown Los Angeles on charges that he raped two women last September, according to LA police.

The ex-NFL safety won the Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints, but now he could serve serious time for the crimes that are alleged.

So far he faces charges in LA and New Orleans, but other cases remain under investigation.

Last Thursday he turned himself into the authorities in New Orleans after an arrest warrant was issued.

Sharper pleaded not guilty to the charges last week and he had left court after posting $1 million bail, only for the warrant to be subsequently issued.
