The New Orleans Pelicans have confirmed that starting Point Guard Jrue Holiday will miss the rest of the season following surgery on his right tibia.
Holiday joins the list of Pelicans players who are now out for the rest of the season along with starting Center Jason Smith and Forward Ryan Anderson.
New Orleans confirmed on Friday that the surgery on a stress fracture in his right tibia was successful but that the former Eastern conference All-Star will still have to sit out the rest of the Pelicans games.
Holiday has done well this season since arriving from Philadelphia in the summer, in 34 games he has averaged 14.3 points, 7.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game in 33.6 minutes.
The news may not be that big of a blow to the Pelicans however as they have been without Holiday since he first got the shin injury back on January 8th.
