Real Madrid were left embarrassed by all accounts against rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday, and it wasn't only the score-line to be ashamed of.

It started well for the Los Blancos, with star striker Karim Benzema opening the scoring after just three minutes thanks to a smart cross from Angel Di Maria.

Although, then came the start of the embarrassing phase, with Pepe the culprit. After a thorough disagreement between he and Atletico's Gabi the argument was looked split by defender Diego Godin.

But, when Godin backed into Pepe, which looked to me accidental, Pepe tumbled to the floor like he'd been steamrollered. Pepe stayed on the ground for a considerable amount of time, but even though he did get treatment it was quite unnecessary.

Both Pepe and Godin coincidentally were yellow-carded for their actions, but Godin I didn't think was at all at fault. Sadly for Pepe, it is he who will make the news and not Godin.

Two goals from Atletico looked like it was going to be more embarrassment for Real Madrid, but Cristiano Ronaldo fired home late on to save the already red-faced Pepe from more trouble.

Watch what happened above, and see if you interpreted it like I did.
