British welterweight Amir Khan has continued his war of words with Floyd Mayweather by branding the pound-for-pound king as "full of s***" on Twitter this morning, as the bad blood continues to linger over the former world champion missing out on a mega-money Las Vegas showdown.
Mayweather kept Khan in limbo for more than two months before finally opting to fight Argentine knockout artist Marcos Maidana on May 3rd, following a social media campaign which also included the unbeaten star asking fans for their opinion on a future foe.
Khan has been left with the potential silver lining of a meeting with Adrien Broner as a make way to a future Mayweather bout, but will believe that offer only when it materialises.
The Bolton native has used Twitter to fire back at Mayweather today, declaring that nothing the champion says can be trusted.
Khan posted: "FM is full of shit. Just like ' my next opponent ' Poll."
While uncertainty remains over his next opponent Khan will return to the UK later this week, ramping up his training efforts in the hope of being ready for a pivotal clash before the summer.
The 27-year-old has now been out of the ring since last April, when the Olympic silver medalist squeezed to a razor-thin points decision victory over Julio Diaz.
