Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter has revealed that he's 'honoured and excited' to be linked with Premier League champions Manchester United, reports talkSPORT.
The centre-back has just been called up to the German national team having impressed in the Bundesliga this season.
And now it appears that he's on the radar of Red Devils boss David Moyes, who reportedly scouted him in his side's clash with Hertha Berlin on Friday.
At just 20-years-old, he has already played 59 games in Germany's elite division, and could now be heading to the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
On reports linking him with a move to Manchester United, Ginter said: "If it is true, I am of course honoured and excited. On the other hand, there is still a long way to the summer."
However, if Manchester United are to secure the player's services they may have to battle the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, who have also been linked with the star in recent weeks.
With David Moyes expected to make a number of signings this summer. it has been suggested that the signing of Ginter would cost Manchester United around £7.2 million.
With Nemanja Vidic having already confirmed that he will be departing Manchester United at the end of the season and Rio Ferdinand's future uncertain, Ginter could be the first man through the gates of Old Trafford in the summer.
