LeBron James plans to travel to Cleveland this Saturday so he can be in attendance to see his long-time friend Zydrunas Ilgauskas honored by the franchise.
Ilgauskas' number 11 jersey is being retired by the Cavaliers this weekend, and The Plain Dealer is reporting that James will be present:
"I talk to Z very often, probably once or twice a month.
"He meant everything to me. When you come in as a rookie you try to find a leader, that veteran, that guy who's been around to learn the ropes from," the star told the newspaper.
The pair played together for seven season in Cleveland, and continued their partnership for one year in Miami.
While the paper reports that LeBron will not be involved in any official capacity in the presentation, it is believed he will take advantage of an off-night for the Heat in order to make his way to the Quicken Loans Arena for his friend's big night.
Unfortunately for Cavs fans this may be the closest they come to seeing their former star, and reigning MVP, back on their side as although James may enter free agency this summer there are likely to be a number of suitors should he choose not to stay in Miami.
