Rob Van Dam is set for a return to the WWE.

The 43-year old revealed on his twitter that he was set for a comeback in the run up to SummerSlam:

“@THEPIMPHACKER: Are you going to return by #Summerslam ? @TherealRVD ?' Indeed."

It was a simple one word answer, but really it told us all we needed to know about the former champions plans after not appearing in the Royal Rumble, disappointing hordes of fans in the process.

But it seems that RVD is set to work a similar schedule as the one that he undertook last year in returning to the wrestling world.

'Mr Pay Per View' came back in July 2013, worked some major time including a championship bout with Alberto Del Rio, before leaving as swiftly as he had returned in October.

RVD is still a legitimate superstar wherever he goes. The aura of the five star frog splash still lingers in wrestling fans memories, and even though he works limited time he is loved by all.

And the "Whole F’n Show" has good reason to only work 3 months a year. His family.

Van Dam was loved, and always will be, in the ring. But he personally now finds that time on the road and away from his loved ones the hardest thing of all.

“The 18-year-old me wouldn’t understand the 43-year-old me because then I wanted to travel and see the world," he said. "But I love being home. Some guys are on the road and can’t wait to get home, others are at home and can’t wait to get on the road. I’m definitely the one who wants to be home.”

So, while we don't get to see him a lot, all fans will be making the most of their limited time with a true people's champion.
